Christmas in Utah

We arrived in UT to be reunited with Trevi last Friday. Our reunion was sweet but now we have the task of bringing her down from the cloud of getting everything she wants! Immediately after getting here we had a baby blessing in SLC for Ryan's brother's new baby, Holden. Then my dad had some work in SLC so we stayed Monday and Tuesday nights. We had a great time shopping and seeing the lights. But it is just so dang cold!!! I still can't get used to it!

Normally I like to see all the lights and cover every inch. But a few years in AZ has made it hard to bear the cold weather! Heaven help me if we go somewhere cold for residency.

Poor Ezra is getting four top teeth at once and it has made him sick. It seems like every time we travel like home one of our kids gets sick. It must be all the traveling and activities!

Have a Merry Christmas everyone!!

Sexy Sweater Party

Ezra's first encounter with "Santa" was not really a pleasant one. I don't know why he wasn't just mesmerized by that high-quality Walgreen's Santa suit!

The Hunters put together a fun Christmas Party before we left AZ! We all wore the most beautiful Christmas sweaters we could find. Our pretty sweaters are courtesy of Savers and sorry they are one-of-a-kind so don't wear yourselves out trying to find some just like them! We had some good food and did a video scavenger hunt. Thanks for a fun evening!!

Trevi Update

Trevi is having a great time at Nana and Papa's. Check out Tessa's blog to see some of her fun times. The last three days have been one Christmas Party/event after another. It has been fun but lacking because Trevi isn't here to share it...6 days till we get to see her!!

Bummer

So I just drove 20 minutes to find out that the Triathlon I was supposed to participate in tomorrow is CANCELLED! I am bummed =( I spent the last few days psyching myself into thinking I was ready. I was mentally prepared and now I have no chance to prove myself. I had all my gear ready and everything. Dang it.

Now I have to find another one and prep all over again...

I like Big Boys and I cannot lie...

Okay well maybe just little "big boys" ;) Ezra had his 9-month check up and despite his ever persistent reflux he is thriving and then some. He was 90th for his weight at 22 pounds and 100th for his height! (Here's to those great Jones' genes for height!!)
Ryan took this picture of him trying to get a drink today while not letting go of his crackers in each hand. He said it was hilarious watching him trying to figure it out!

So here is a little update on Trevi! First, we miss her tons and know that she is having so much fun in UT. She spent last week with Nana & Papa. Being pampered by Papa and helping Nana decorate Christmas Trees. She was with Tessa the last few days and she had a traumatic experience in the bathtub last night.

Tessa said that Trevi POOPED IN THE TUB! WHAT!?! This is my borderline OCD, prissy little girl and she pooped in the tub. Needless to say it distressed us and my dad enough that he is ready to bring her back on Friday if it comes to that. Tessa said she was screaming when she saw the floater and had to be moved to a whole different bathtub so that she could bathe again!!!

Today she is with Ryan's sister and Crystal and all of her cousins on the Jones side so I am sure she is having a ton of fun. For those of you that know Trevi I thought you might appreciate that story! I really miss my little girl.

Girls' Getaway

This last week Ezra and I took a drive to Las Vegas to stay at Kelsey's and Katie and Libby came down from Logan. It was so much fun to spend time with these great girls. We are SO SAD that Leah wasn't able to make it at the last minute. (Leah, I was going to photoshop your head in the picture but I am not that good yet!) We just spent LOTS of time talking and catching up on everything. Ryan commented that he didn't need to ask what we did when I came home with almost no voice left.
Our last night there was went out on the strip for dinner at 11:30! It was a flashback to the good ol' college days. I really love these girls and all of my roommates I had in college. I always say if my kids are able to have half as great a college experience as I did I would be so happy for them. I love you guys and all the roomies that are spread all over the world!!!

GO AGGIES!!

Look at the name of the restaurant! TREVI - seeing her name up there really made me miss her more that she didn't get to see it too. We love you Trevi and miss you!!

Give Thanks!

We stayed in AZ for Thanksgiving this year and it was so nice not to travel, but we did miss seeing all the family! Nana and Papa drove down and spent a week with us. It was so much fun having them here and sharing Thanksgiving with them. Trevi didn't want to say good bye so they took her home with them. We will miss having our little girl with us but we will get her back when we go up for Christmas!

Trevi and Ezra loved Thanksgiving. When we were going around the table saying what were thankful for Trevi said "bread" (that's my girl!) and you only have to see the pictures of Ezra to know what he is thankful for!

I am so thankful for my little family and my extended family. I am grateful that my kids have amazing grandparents who love them more than life and make so much time for them. I am thankful for a husband who works hard and is a great husband and father. I am grateful for healthy and happy kids! I could go on and on... but I won't!

Trevi has only been gone for one day and it is so quiet around here. Ezra is getting more attention then he knows what to do with and he is loving it. Funny how I used to think that one child was so much work and now that I just have one around he seems so easy. Looks like there will be a lot of dejunking going on these 3 weeks so we can move after Christmas!

Hope you all had a great Thanksgiving, bring on Christmas baby!

Best time of day

I was just thinking about the parts of the day that are my favorite with my kids. For sure both mornings and right before bedtime are my favorite part of the day with both but for different reasons. It may just be that I love routine too, but I think that they love it too. No matter what craziness happens through out the day the mornings and bedtime are so predictable and I feel like it is special time to just enjoy each other and their little personalities.

I love morning time with Trevi. She is always so happy and cuddly in the morning. She looks so cute with her messy hair and it always smells so good from the bath the night before. She always gives us big hugs and tells how she slept so good and that she needs her cereal.

I love the bedtime part of the day with Ezra! Usually while he is eating his cereal Trevi will go and turn the bath on. Once he hears the water running he starts getting excited. I strip him down and he is off usually before I can finish. While I go to get the PJs he usually makes his way to the tub and stands there waiting for his tub time. He is just so nice and I love that he gets so excited about his bath time.

Yeah for Friends

Warning--the following is a trip down memory lane that will not be appreciated by all but will be greatly appreciated by some!

This last weekend I was able to catch up with an old friend. Amy
has been a friend of mine for about five years now. We met in Nauvoo while attending BYU's Semester at Nauvoo. I knew the second she got on the bus with her cute little Ann Taylor duds and matching red purse that we would be fast friends, and we were! I was able to see her because she invited me to participate in a boutique her mom and friends were do. I am very grateful to her for inviting me because it turned out to be a very successful weekend for Jonesy Baby. I love that Amy knows who she is and is confident with herself. It always helps to have that in a friend! I am sorry to say that it has just taken me so long to hook up with her but better than than never! Though you might think that Nauvoo would get a bit boring (and it could) we managed to always find great ways to entertain ourselves.

Anyone who is looking for a Christmas card, birth announcement design, etc check out Amy's new venture, Ink'd. From what I hear this is only one of her many ambitions. I am so glad that I got to see you Amy and this time it won't be so long in between visits!

If this picture was not such poor quality you might be able to appreciate what a great shot this is with the temple in the background. The reason why this shot is so good is because we had to get on the roof to get it. Shortly after this picture was taken we got in trouble for being up there, but we just deferred to Amy's mom since she was the "grown-up" of the group. Oops!

Running was so much fun in Nauvoo! We were always up bright and early in our "swooshy" pants and this morning was one of the best runs even though it was pouring.

We never lacked in the having fun area. We always found ways to entertain ourselves. (Don't worry I am sure that Elle had it coming to her whatever it was.)

Halloween 2007

The kids were so fun to take door-to-door. Holidays are so much more fun with kids!! Trevi is still trying to understand how all we talked about was Halloween for weeks and then one day it is over.

Crazy for food or just crazy?!

Erza is just so passionate about his food. Whatever I do he always keeps one eye on me to see if it might have something to do with him getting a chance to eat. If we all sit down for dinner he is just going crazy the whole time. He knows if he is getting jipped. Forget about giving him a cracker or some Cheerios, he wants whatever is on your plate and he won't quit eyeing it until he thinks he gets a bite. If you don't respond to his request fast enough these are the faces that you will see. It is really hilarious that my nice, sweet little boy can turn into this little crazy man when the food comes out! Eating is Ezra's one true love, so you with the snack over there take cover because this little monster is coming your way.

Jonesy Baby

Okay, so those of you who have been in contact with me at all over the past 5 months know that this has been a work in progress. I am happy to say that I am finally to a place that I feel comfortable saying that I am officially open for business! I am still trying to figure out the whole Typepad format, so if any of you know anything let me know, please. I am really excited about Jonesy Baby and hope that all of you will like it. Let me hear your feedback, I am always looking for new fun things and ways to improve. If anyone wants to order anything please just email through my Jonesy Baby blog. Be sure to take note of the wonderful pictures that Heather took. She has seriously done an amazing job and as always went above and beyond my expectations. Thanks Heather!

So Big!

Ezra is getting so big. This weeked he started crawling and then got his first tooth yesterday! Trevi has also started crawling into his crib to keep him company. Today during nap time we heard Ezra talking and went in to find them both in his crib. What do we do,tie her to the bed?!

The Lion, The Witch and... The Pumpkin

So can you tell that we get a bit excited about Halloween at our house? Yes it is still more than a month away but we are ready for it! Trevi is going to be the nicest witch (her words) and Ezra is the happiest lion you have ever seen. We are still missing a few key pieces, like Trevi's shoes and what Ezra will wear under his lion suit. And what about my mad scrapbooking page?! Thanks to Jess for teaching me how to digi scrap. I love it and will now actually look forward to scrapping those pictures instead of putting them in a box.

6 Months Old

Ezra is six months old and I just can't imagine him being any sweeter. I absolutely love these pictures that Heather took. This is just a sneak peek to see the rest check out her website. He went to the doctor last week and he is doing great and he has dropped in his percentiles, which is weird because Trevi was never below 70 in anything. He is 60% for his weight and 75% for his height. He is such a happy baby and I can't imagine life without him and yet I feel like I just got him!

The Best!!

I just returned last night from a little trip to L.A with my mom and her friend Machelle and daughter Stashia. It was a trip strictly for business but we had a little fun too. I must say the most exciting part of it all was getting to see Wicked the musical!! I have heard so much about it, first from the Hunters and then from the Pecks and I was feeling altogether left out. Now I am totally aware of what all the fuss was about. It was fabulous!! We were driving back to the hotel one night and we saw the sign for Wicked and my mom started raving about how good it was. So the next morning we called and got tickets. It was so much fun to experience this, it is cute and clever and just so good. For those of you who ever get the chance you must go and for the rest of you get the soundtrack it is addictive and so entertaining!!
I am just sad that Ryan didn't get to see it with me,although I don't think he is (but he would be if he only knew how good it was). He was a trooper though and stayed home and played mommy and daddy to the kids for three days. He is so nice!!

Sooo Hot

Is it just me or did is just get much hotter over the past few days?!? We seemed to have a bit of break from the heat for a while there. Today was miserable getting in our hot car on the way home from church. This picture of Trevi says it all.

Big Day!!

Trevi had her first day of preschool and dance on Wednesday! Needless to say she was practically jumping out of her skin with excitement. When I dropped her off at preschool in the morning I found myself hanging around not really wanting to leave her there, feeling like I was supposed to stay (it is just 1-1/2 hours on M/W/F, not a big deal). She didn't even take a second thought about me leaving she was just so happy to be there. Addy and Logan go to the same school as well so it is three days a week of heaven for Trevi. I love the picture because it illustrates perfectly how excited she was. She is one independent girl!

Later in the day it was time of the next big event, DANCE! Trevi was just as excited for this as well. We come from a long line of dancers in my family. All of the girls in our family started dance at the age of three and my mom used to teach dancing for a long time. My mom, aunt, sisters and now cousins all took from the same studio. Given all the history I am excited for Trevi to start dance but we also need to get her into soccer. I loved dancing growing up but once I graduated from high school there was no use for it. I then had to find different ways to be active and exercise. I finally determined that running was my favorite but it took a lot of work for me to like it, and now I love it. But the point is that while dance is fun I would like Trevi to have a sport or something to do to get her build her confidence in athletics. That way hopefully being active will come naturally and be something that she loves. Anyway, as I come down off my soapbox, she loved dance and she did a great job!

My little girl is getting so big and it is so much fun!

Take me out to the ball game...

Tuesday night we went to the Diamondbacks game with the Pecks, Hunters and Aubree's friend from grade school, Leah and her husband. We took all the kids and sat in the cheap seats (which I prefer, especially with kids). It was a great time and we need to do more stuff like this while we are here in the Phoenix Area. The cheap seats are cheap and Trevi loves it! Ezra was totally in awe of all the lights and sounds, he was completely entertained as well. From the pics above you can see why we like the cheap seats; the kids have a little freedom.

First time on my road bike....

Today I took my road bike out for my first real ride with my friend Cass. For those of you who have not ridden a road bike, you use these shoes that clip into the pedals so your feet are secured right to the pedal. I was new at using the shoes and I have not really taken the bike out for a real ride with the shoes. It was an uncomfortable feeling having my foot stuck to the pedal so I had a bit of anxiety when we started out. Sure enough when we got to the first intersection Cass told me to break on the left as we stopped. I unhooked my right foot and was thinking "break left" and so naturally I leaned to the left but my left foot was still hooked into the pedal so I fell at the stoplight in front of who knows how many people. So I got up and while getting situated again I fell again!! And that is why I have this picture of my bloody leg. Though this is not my only injury it is the most dramatic. The rest of the ride was pretty uneventful, though I think I did fall one more time. So even though I fell three times on my first ride at least I got back on the bike!! Thanks Cass for the great ride, it was an awesome work out and I am looking forward to doing it again!!

Lake Powell

The Bearnson Family took the annual trip to Lake Powell last week. This is the first time in quite a few years that most of the kids were able to make. Braden was in San Fran working so he was the only sibling missing. The last two years it has just been me and Trevi with my parents because Ryan was gone for something the others were gone too. It was tons of fun and we were able to find a spot close to Bullfrog so we didn't have to waste time finding a spot. Ezra and Easton did a great job and both of them loved the water. When Ezra would get in his floaty he went into an anti-social mode. He is normally super smiley and he would just look at us like don't bug me. Last year Trevi was intimidated by the lake but this year she was always the first one in and the last one out. She even tried some tubing. It is probably the last family vaca before Alex leaves and it was a great one. Lake Powell never disappoints!! P.S. That is Ryan and I on the jet ski, sad, somehow we didn't get any pics together.

Busy, Busy

This weekend Ryan's mom and I made raspberry jam. Doesn't it look so yummy! I love doing these fun domestic things and Ryan's mom is always teaching me when we get the chance! This is my feeble attempt at taking a good picture of my jam with my crappy camera. How did I do Heather??

The kiddos chillin at the parade.

For as long as I can remember this Dolorian has been in the Cruise-in. It is sort of nerdy in comparison to the other cars, but has become a classic in its own way.

It has been a while since we updated. We have been in Logan since the July 1 and Ryan has been having a great experience on his first rotation. He has been lucky to work with a really good doctor. Over the 4th we went to Salt Lake and spent time with Ryan's sister and brother and all the cousins. That weekend we went to the Cache Valley Cruise-in Parade. I was able to see some of the the roommates this week and go to the pool with Katie, Libby and cousins. We have been having a good time but it will great to get back, 13 days left...

4 Months Old

Yesterday Ezra turned 4 months old and to celebrate he got shots. He did really well and actually did not really cry, it was more of a wimper. He is such a nice boy! His percentiles dropped from 97th to 90th for length and 75th for height. He is still a big boy though. He also had his first sampling of cereal and once he realized it was food he was all about it! Look at all that on his spoon and most of it did not make it in is mouth. Looks like I need to adjust from feedng a three-year-old.

Happy Birthday...to me??

Wednesday friends surprised me with a little birthday dinner before we leave for Logan. I thought it was a bit suspicious when Ryan was getting ultra ambitious about planning the date but I figured I should just let him do it. We had a great dinner and it was quite a surprise. Thanks you guys, I feel really blessed to have such good friends and we will miss you while we are away!

My cute cousin!

I added Kelsey's Kitchen to my links on the side. Kelsey is my super cute cousin and TV food personality. Her website has some great recipes that are really yummy and fast too. So be sure to check it out. We got to see Kelsey last week when she came to Phoenix for a visit with her handsome friend. Right now she is in L.A. going to culinary school and working on all of her fun and exciting projects. We love you Kelsey!

Taking a Break...Finally!

The Friday before last Ryan finished his last Board exam and was able to take a real break. That means no thoughts of school lurking in the back and waiting for us at home to spoil the relaxation. At first we wanted to go to Rocky Point, Mexico but we decided we were not up for a drive since we are heading to Utah for July. So we just took the short 20-minute drive to Scottsdale and stayed at the Kierland Resort and Spa for a few days. The resorts in Phoenix have some good specials right now because summer is a bit of a down time for the year due to the heat. We had a great time!! Trevi discovered goggles and now she is an amazing swimmer for being 3, which is great with having pool in the backyard. The goggles gave her the confidence boost she needed and she is getting plenty of practice. Ezra loved being in his little floaty, but the boy is so white I didn't let a speck of sun get on him! Now Ryan is on to the second part of medical school which is more hands-on and less head-in-the-book. He starts his first rotation with Dr. McKenna, a pediatrician in Logan, and then we will be back in August for the rest!
