Reunited Roomies

After braving a crazy snow storm I got to have lunch with these wonderful women! We missed all the roomies that couldn't make it!!!
I have to say that my time at Utah State was A-mazing mostly due to these women. It is funny to think how different we all were but we all meshed so well! It was great to catch up and see what classy women they all are and what great things they are doing. I love you all!

A Night with the Nutcracker

Trevi and I went to the Nutcracker at the Paris with our friends Lark and Afton. It was so much fun to see all the pretty costumes and dancing, Trevi loved it! I am so happy that Lark wanted to go and took the initiative to get the tickets and everything--THANK YOU. It was a great night out with our little girls and I am thinking this is going to be a solid Christmas tradition! What do you say about next year girls?
I thought the costumes and dancing were beautiful! Trevi loved getting dressed up and having some time with me,without the boys. When we were driving there she kept saying "it's a good thing Ezra isn't here because..." She gave me about five different reasons why, most of them having to do with her being bigger, older, etc.

We didn't have time to eat the "Trevi" but we did stop by there after the show. She LOVED seeing her name on the sign in lights.

After the show I asked Trevi if she felt up to meeting up with my cousins or if she was tired. She was all about seeing them. We went over to Caesars Palace and got to spend some time with Kasey and Sara. It is fun to be in Vegas because now they are in St. George --closest we have been to family in a long time!
Thanks for a fun night Trevi! You are growing up so fast. I can't believe what a great little girl you are. You are such a wonderful big sister! You are always helping me with feedings and diapers and buckling up the boys. You are kind, sensitive and have such a sweet little heart. I feel so blessed to be your mom. I love you!

7 Years!!

Today Ryan and I are celebrating SEVEN years of marriage! In some ways I can't imagine my life before him and in other ways it feels like we are still newlyweds. I really do feel so blessed to call him my husband and best friend. I love him more than I ever knew was possible! Our lives right now are so busy and full and sometimes I think we have decided to take such a long road when it comes to his profession. But I know for sure I wouldn't want to do this with anyone else and I am so grateful for all the experiences we have had along the way.
I have so much assurance in the fact that he really is my partner, someone to shoulder the burden and enjoy the journey with. I love you so much babe and am looking forward to many more years to come!

Christmas Advent Calendar

This was a project I started last year with high hopes and got way too frustrated to finish it. I made two of them (one for me and one for Tessa). After sewing the pockets on I mailed them to Tessa to have her put the numbers on and she ended up have to take all the pockets off to do the numbers! So neither of us ever finished them. I packed mine away in the Christmas stuff and there it was waiting for me this year.

Looking at it with fresh eyes was much better and I finished it up just in time to start using it this year. But you know how you make stuff and you have a vision for it but it doesn't quite look as good a you think? That is how I feel about this, but dang-it I am using it anyway too much work was put into it and the kids think it is tons-o-fun =)

Next time I will just buy one from Pottery Barn...

**I dedicate this post to Heather because she wanted to see it! While her kids are getting a parade every night for their advent calendar mine are getting candy canes--HA HA!

Alex & Cami's First Dance

It has been a busy week with lots of preparation but all of the work paid off. Alex & Cami's wedding was beautiful and so much fun! Here is a little tidbit you will all enjoy. I will post more pics once I get back to Las Vegas.

They are such an awesome couple!!

Trey is a Crawler

Trey is crawling! This video is actually a few weeks old so now he is really moving. I though his being mobile would make him happier, but he just yells at me more! Hopefully, it will be short lived. As you can see he is a happy little guy. I guess you have to learn to raise your voice when you are number three if you want to be heard. I love him to pieces and feel like I am just enjoying him and all his stages so much. Maybe it is because I know it will be a LONG while before I have another little one again.

Now I need to potty train Ezra, but I just have no motivation for it!!!

Halloween 2009

Dr. Jones Jr.

When we first started trick or treating it didn't look so promising. After a few dead ends we found success! Thank goodness the houses are so close together. By the time we got around the block the kids were asking us to carry their buckets.

This house was so awesome, but the kids wouldn't go near it until we were right next to them.

See those teeth coming in?! He was really trying to bite us all night long!

Trey was not really a fan of trick or treating. He just wanted to go to bed.

Trevi and Maddie.
**BTW - Trevi's Halloween costume was also MINE in second grade. Hilarious, doesn't she look like a child of the 80's?

Cambree, Trevi, Ezra, Maddie, Luke.

Ryan finished a 30-hour shift the morning of Halloween and we were so happy he didn't have to miss a minute of the fun!!

Lark and Kathryn.
Lark's husband is a 3rd year surgical resident in Ryan's program. It is hilarious because the only residents that have kids are Mormons and now there are three of us and we all have three kids. Kathryn's husband is a family practice resident in the same program and they were in our ward when we first moved in. It is SO, SO nice to have some girls who know what my life is like. Mostly when I try to explain it to people they just look at me like we are idiots!

It was crazy right as everyone was showing up. I was still getting some last minute stuff done and Trevi wanted to take pictures. When I loaded the pictures I totally forgot she had done this. I loved all the pictures she took. It is fun to see it all from her perspective. I think I will let her do this more!

It turned out to be a really good Halloween. I have to admit I was a little worried it wouldn't be much fun with the new move and Trevi being off track. We are finding our little spot here in Las Vegas and ways to make it our own.

A Disney Halloween

Ryan had two days in a row off at the end of October so we headed over to Disneyland. We really wanted to see it all decked out for Halloween. Of course Disney never disappoints! The weather was perfect and the lines were short. We had so much fun and it was great to get away as a family.

This picture says so much about their personalities.

It was much easier this time with Trey. What a difference a few months make. Last time I was still nursing and he was so little he had to be in the Bjorn. This time he loved the stroller and I loved not having him strapped to me.

Trevi was tall enough to ride Indiana Jones this time. She was really excited about it. Except when the people in front of them got on the ride and refused to get off because their kid was too short. They took a whole 20 minutes arguing with the workers trying to make them feel like they were doing something wrong just for doing their job.

Seriously people, it is the HAPPIEST place on earth!

This is what Ezra did while Trevi and I went on Space Mountain. It was all decked out with ghosts for Halloween. Trevi always surprises me how much she loves the rides that make me a little nervous.

Going home. All the fun is over.

Trunk or Treat

I had to include this one because Trey is so happy in it!

Playdate with Papa

Papa had a conference in town and then we got to play when the work was done. On Saturday we started off the day with a hike up Red Rock Canyon. It is just a few miles up from where we live and it is beautiful up there. It is the perfect stretch of road for good bike ride or a long run and lots of beautiful scenery along the way. The kids did great and hiked around for a good hour plus. But, true to form, Ezra wanted to be carried the last stretch which just happened to be uphill

It was 90 degrees this weekend so we decided to hit up the pool at the Red Rock Hotel, which just happens to be less than a mile from our house. It was so nice to get some sun and swim. The kids loved it. It felt great to swim again, we really miss having a pool in the backyard!!
We LOVE it when our papa comes to visit! Thanks for a fun weekend!!
We do not discriminate so please come for a visit, it won't disappoint.

Love me some Vitamin D!!
(Yes, I know a need a new swimsuit. I will get one next season when I am post, post baby!)

Time with Daddy...Precious

I am sure you all LOVE hearing about how busy Ryan is. Truth is we knew what we were in for when we went down this path....more particularly the Surgical path. I full-heartedly support him in what he is doing and truth be told I thought it would be much worse (don't get me wrong he is working his tail off). I have to say that I am grateful for this experience in residency that we are having because I really, really APPRECIATE the time we do get to spend with Ryan. I think it is making us a better family. I am grateful for what he does and he is grateful for me and I know it.

Anyway...one of our favorite things to do is just to walk (or drive if I am feeling lazy) to this awesome park. It is great to just sit and talk and let the kids run and run and run...then we go home and put them to sleep. On these nights they sleep especially well.
Everyone told me that having a girl first would be so great because she would be tons of help. They were right! Trevi is the best help ever. She loves her brothers so much and helps with everything from bottles, to diapers, and even snacks.
This boy really thinks he is Superman and he is FAST!

Isn't his smile great?!

Coming and Going

(This is braving the airport with 3 kids, minus a husband. I survived.)

Lots of coming and going around here. Since August we have made two visits to Arizona, two visits to Northern UT, two visits to St. George, one visit to Disneyland and lots of playing here in Vegas. It seems like I am always gearing up to go somewhere.

Trevi is off track this whole month, but I am looking forward to her going back next week. Then in a few weeks it will be time for the wedding! We are so, so excited for the wedding!!!

My goal is to be caught up by the end of the week...

My Posse

"Through service to others, we develop a Christlike love and we experience joy. Service teaches patience and long-suffering as well as gentleness, goodness, and faith."
--Merrill J. Bateman

(I can't believe how big they are and that there are THREE of them. Love it.)

Oh yes they are...

Alex & Cami are engaged!! Yep, he has been home almost 3 weeks and they are getting married!! Words can't express how much we love her and they are AWESOME together. Congrats you guys we love you so much!!

The engagement was a family affair. Alex and Cami met close to 13 years ago at Providence Elementary School so that is where Alex decided to ask her to marry him. He had 13 roses that had things he loved about Cami on them. Alex brought Cami to the swings and we were all behind the school. Then we sent the kids out one by one with the roses until all of them were given to Cami. Then my mom and Cami's mom brought out some red roses and the ring. Alex got on one knee and she said YES!

Thanks for letting us be apart of this amazing moment!

Trip to Zion

This last weekend Ryan had a few days off (which felt like Christmas) so we headed to St. George and Zion National Park. Friday night we went to a Pineview football game to watch my cousin cheer. Saturday we headed up to Zion for some hiking.

We forgot Trey's hat but this little get-up ended up being much more fun. I love this little boy so much.

Trevi loves to hike and Trey worked himself right to sleep.

Thanks to this little truck Ezra walked the whole way. He normally likes to be held whenever something requires effort on his part. We just kept telling him to find the next rock to drive his truck on. It worked like a charm and he never got carried once!

Lower Emerald Pool

Hiking with 3 kids makes for a tired daddy. It was so great to be able to spend some great quality time with Ryan.

Trey - 6 months

Can you believe he is 6 months old? I love this little guy to pieces. Not a day goes by that someone doesn't comment about how smiley/happy he is. Thank goodness, because three kids is a handful..but worth all the effort.

**A big shout out to my cousin Kylie for these great pictures. She was staying with us on her way back to UT and her transmission was completely toast so we got her for an extra day while it was being fixed. I am so happy we got to spend some extra time with her!!
