Halloween 2009

Dr. Jones Jr.

When we first started trick or treating it didn't look so promising. After a few dead ends we found success! Thank goodness the houses are so close together. By the time we got around the block the kids were asking us to carry their buckets.

This house was so awesome, but the kids wouldn't go near it until we were right next to them.

See those teeth coming in?! He was really trying to bite us all night long!

Trey was not really a fan of trick or treating. He just wanted to go to bed.

Trevi and Maddie.
**BTW - Trevi's Halloween costume was also MINE in second grade. Hilarious, doesn't she look like a child of the 80's?

Cambree, Trevi, Ezra, Maddie, Luke.

Ryan finished a 30-hour shift the morning of Halloween and we were so happy he didn't have to miss a minute of the fun!!

Lark and Kathryn.
Lark's husband is a 3rd year surgical resident in Ryan's program. It is hilarious because the only residents that have kids are Mormons and now there are three of us and we all have three kids. Kathryn's husband is a family practice resident in the same program and they were in our ward when we first moved in. It is SO, SO nice to have some girls who know what my life is like. Mostly when I try to explain it to people they just look at me like we are idiots!

It was crazy right as everyone was showing up. I was still getting some last minute stuff done and Trevi wanted to take pictures. When I loaded the pictures I totally forgot she had done this. I loved all the pictures she took. It is fun to see it all from her perspective. I think I will let her do this more!

It turned out to be a really good Halloween. I have to admit I was a little worried it wouldn't be much fun with the new move and Trevi being off track. We are finding our little spot here in Las Vegas and ways to make it our own.

A Disney Halloween

Ryan had two days in a row off at the end of October so we headed over to Disneyland. We really wanted to see it all decked out for Halloween. Of course Disney never disappoints! The weather was perfect and the lines were short. We had so much fun and it was great to get away as a family.

This picture says so much about their personalities.

It was much easier this time with Trey. What a difference a few months make. Last time I was still nursing and he was so little he had to be in the Bjorn. This time he loved the stroller and I loved not having him strapped to me.

Trevi was tall enough to ride Indiana Jones this time. She was really excited about it. Except when the people in front of them got on the ride and refused to get off because their kid was too short. They took a whole 20 minutes arguing with the workers trying to make them feel like they were doing something wrong just for doing their job.

Seriously people, it is the HAPPIEST place on earth!

This is what Ezra did while Trevi and I went on Space Mountain. It was all decked out with ghosts for Halloween. Trevi always surprises me how much she loves the rides that make me a little nervous.

Going home. All the fun is over.

Trunk or Treat

I had to include this one because Trey is so happy in it!

Playdate with Papa

Papa had a conference in town and then we got to play when the work was done. On Saturday we started off the day with a hike up Red Rock Canyon. It is just a few miles up from where we live and it is beautiful up there. It is the perfect stretch of road for good bike ride or a long run and lots of beautiful scenery along the way. The kids did great and hiked around for a good hour plus. But, true to form, Ezra wanted to be carried the last stretch which just happened to be uphill

It was 90 degrees this weekend so we decided to hit up the pool at the Red Rock Hotel, which just happens to be less than a mile from our house. It was so nice to get some sun and swim. The kids loved it. It felt great to swim again, we really miss having a pool in the backyard!!
We LOVE it when our papa comes to visit! Thanks for a fun weekend!!
We do not discriminate so please come for a visit, it won't disappoint.

Love me some Vitamin D!!
(Yes, I know a need a new swimsuit. I will get one next season when I am post, post baby!)

Time with Daddy...Precious

I am sure you all LOVE hearing about how busy Ryan is. Truth is we knew what we were in for when we went down this path....more particularly the Surgical path. I full-heartedly support him in what he is doing and truth be told I thought it would be much worse (don't get me wrong he is working his tail off). I have to say that I am grateful for this experience in residency that we are having because I really, really APPRECIATE the time we do get to spend with Ryan. I think it is making us a better family. I am grateful for what he does and he is grateful for me and I know it.

Anyway...one of our favorite things to do is just to walk (or drive if I am feeling lazy) to this awesome park. It is great to just sit and talk and let the kids run and run and run...then we go home and put them to sleep. On these nights they sleep especially well.
Everyone told me that having a girl first would be so great because she would be tons of help. They were right! Trevi is the best help ever. She loves her brothers so much and helps with everything from bottles, to diapers, and even snacks.
This boy really thinks he is Superman and he is FAST!

Isn't his smile great?!

Coming and Going

(This is braving the airport with 3 kids, minus a husband. I survived.)

Lots of coming and going around here. Since August we have made two visits to Arizona, two visits to Northern UT, two visits to St. George, one visit to Disneyland and lots of playing here in Vegas. It seems like I am always gearing up to go somewhere.

Trevi is off track this whole month, but I am looking forward to her going back next week. Then in a few weeks it will be time for the wedding! We are so, so excited for the wedding!!!

My goal is to be caught up by the end of the week...

My Posse

"Through service to others, we develop a Christlike love and we experience joy. Service teaches patience and long-suffering as well as gentleness, goodness, and faith."
--Merrill J. Bateman

(I can't believe how big they are and that there are THREE of them. Love it.)
